Fantasy News and Notes: Week Ten

Hello and Welcome to the Hunt Park Insider Fantasy Guide - now with ninja action! Every week I dig through statistics, news, and rumors to provide the reader with the kind of fantasy advice that only someone suffocating from dog gas can provide. I write this Monday night before the official injury reports come out, so don't be grumpy if I tell you to pick a hurt player. For information on MLS Fantasy Football go to http://fantasy.mlsnet.com/.

Top 10 ways McBride is screwing Columbus: # 10 He would be great coaching a u8 team.

I was running late last week so my best predictions of the year were wasted. It's a shame really since I went 6/6. Even calling Edison Buddle for Value Pick. It's a heart breaker, much like a once popular Columbus forward.

Top 10 ways McBride is screwing Columbus: # 9 Whenever my wife saw him around town, she and I would have above average relations later that night.

My big warning for this week is to repeat the warning everyone should have heard now: watch out for international games. Dig Dig dig to see who is called in or released back to the club team at the last moment. The hard work you put in will result in points. Or just take the lazy path and follow my picks

Top 10 ways McBride is screwing Columbus: # 8 His health issues kept at least 5 medical professionals gainfully employed.

Take Three - New England. The Revs play against both a struggling New York and a RSL team that no one respects. There is a good chance for two shutouts this week. I am tempted to take all defensive players.

Top 10 ways McBride is screwing Columbus: # 7 The trades for the Fire will make to obtain him will help Toronto and Chicago. That's right, two Eastern Conference teams will get better while we are screwed.

Take Three - Real Salt Lake. Huh? Wait, didn't I just say no one respects RSL? No one except the spreadsheet. Three RSL players are in the top 15 field players, and none of those players are overpriced. Playing two games in a week does wonders for points per week. RSL has a tough matchup with New England, sure, but they do have a game against San Jose. Seems like it is worth the risk. For numerical support go to here. (Thanks to Foosinho for the serious math and effort these kinds of reports involve.)

Top 10 ways McBride is screwing Columbus: # 6 Crew Stadium will have no idea how to respond to one of our hero's wearing a Fire Jersey. I personally will be more conflicted than when Razov came out in a Crew Jersey.

Avoid - Kansas City. They travel to Toronto this week. KC has to come out hard, and take three points to prove they are a respectable team. The sad truth is the Wizards are not a respectable team. Toronto playing at home should easily deal with the farmboys.

Top 10 ways McBride is screwing Columbus: # 5 He will play on a team with Blanco, that's just sick.

Captain - Matt Reis. UNLESS HE STICKS WITH THE US SQUAD. I gotta think he goes back to the club team for his two games this week, but be careful. Reis isn't cheap at all, but he is the top of the chart for expected points this week. If Reis is out take Rimjob... errr...Rimando from RSL.

Top 10 ways McBride is screwing Columbus: # 4 The value of our yellow McBride jerseys will plummet.

Value - Edison Buddle Just like last week. The spreadsheet says he is a value and earning points. He has been on a hot steak lately with yet another hat trick. Carol Ruiz shouldn't be around to take his minutes again this week. And Buddle may be extra motivated/less lazy playing against his old club. I still feel weird typing it, but Buddle is a good choice this week.

Top 10 ways McBride is screwing Columbus: # 3 Our women will say to us, "Well Brain McBride gave up an adoring city so his wife can live closer to her parents, why can't you do XX for me?"

Overpriced - Marvell Wynne. This Toronto defender is one of the highest rated defenders on the spreadsheet. $479,000 for someone who averages 4.3 points a game though? A few spots higher on the spreadsheet is Segares of Chicago. Segares costs less than half and averages 4.5 points a game. Spend your money on a good coach and skip Wynne.

Top 10 ways McBride is screwing Columbus: # 2 Sweet lord we need someone to score some goals.

Super Sleeper Pick - I am just throwing out that Ryan Johnson of San Jose is playing forward. MLS fantasy has him listed as a defender. If he gets a goal it will be scored like a defender and he can still get shutout points. Just a thought.

Top 10 ways McBride is screwing Columbus: # 1 The whole thing makes me want to cry.

Come by next week when the international games take a break and picking is less of a crap shoot.
