Crew Draws With Wizards, 3-3

The Columbus Crew had to settle for a 3-3 draw with the Kansas City Wizards tonight at Crew Stadium. After conceding twice in 3 minutes in the first half, the team stormed back with three goals before the break to take a 3-2 lead into halftime. However, the returning Josh Wolff paid immediate dividends, tapping home the equalizer in the second half.

Tonight's result leaves Columbus 5 points adrift of New England with a 8-5-4 record (28 points). They are four points ahead of Chicago, meaning they will remain in second place in the Eastern Conference without regard for the Fire's result on Saturday against Salt Lake. Kansas City, meanwhile, improves to 5-5-6 and 21 points. They are tied with Toronto FC for fifth place in the East, leaving New York to prop up the conference alone.

Columbus' next competitive match is July 27th on the road to Colorado, their first of five straight games against Western Conference foes. Kansas City's future holds a home match with the Chicago Fire, also on July 27th.
